TAJ Racing of Tampa, Florida USA has officially been named an entrant of the 24 Hours of LeMons Series event July 26 - 27 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina, USA. This is the first endurance racing event for TAJ Racing and the second event of the season for the growing series.

TAJ Racing’s ( www.tajracing.com ) entry is a race prepared Ford Escort GT with the team consisting of Team Captain, Crew Chief and Driver Travis Floyd from Temple Terrace, Florida; Team Strategist, Lead Mechanic and Driver John Floyd who is a savvy endurance road racing veteran who’s experience spans several decades from Tampa, Florida; Team Engineer and Driver Jason Pilarczyk from Clover, South Carolina and Team Technical Specialist and Driver Andrew Powell of Riverview, Florida. The 24 Hours of LeMons series started out running in California and on the West Coast of the United States. Now as the series is growing , it is expanding to the East Coast with the July event being the first for the series on the East Coast. The rules for the series are simple:

Each LeMons race is for cars purchased, fixed up, and track-prepped for a total of 500 dollars or less, excluding safety equipment. But before reaching the grid, you'll have to survive trials like the Personal-Injury-Lawyer Anti-Slalom, the Marxist-Valet Parking Challenge, and the Wide Open Throttle Rodthrowapalooza. Twelve hours into the race, the car voted People’s Choice is called in and awarded a cash prize; simultaneously, the car voted People’s Curse is called in and summarily destroyed. At the end of 24 hours, a gala awards ceremony plies the survivors with trophies, plaques, and four-figure purses in canvas bags full of nickels. Team Captain Travis Floyd expresses his excitement on the upcoming race. "We feel we have an outstanding chance of winning and bringing home the trophy back down home with us to Tampa. With the preparation we are doing to the Advantage Steel Ford Escort GT and the advice my father and teammate John Floyd is giving the team, I feel we will be quite competitive. I am also very excited to be finally making one of my life long dreams a reality by running a major endurance racing event with my father.
